After a bidder’s inquiry about the center stone being an amethyst, a closer look was taken. It does seem to be an amethyst based on results of a spectroscope reading. All three stones test as quartz, the trilliant are brown (aka: smoky) quartz and the center is presumed to be amethyst. It is a semitranslucent stone that is cabochon polished and has color zoning. It is not a bright purple, faceted gemstone like the ones in the earrings in Lot 18. The amethyst in the current auction is a dark, grayish-purple stone that is semi-transclucent. It is a nice=looking ring. Pictures have beeen updated.
This is a sterling silver ring that features a cabochon center amethyst and trilliant-cut smoky quartz adjacent.
